LugLoc’s functionality is similar to that of a mobile phone and contains a SIM card provided by a telecom company allowing it to operate worldwide. Some operators have stopped or are planning to stop offering 2G services.
For the LugLoc units that were manufactured before December 31, 2016, unfortunately, the SIM card included in it will no longer be active after November 30, 2019, due to the fact that the telecom company that provides it will no longer offer 2G connectivity. LugLoc units manufactured after January 1st, 2017 will still be active as long as there is 2G service available.
Our current product GEGO, comes with a SIM Card from one of the largest telecom companies in the world, offering the best 2G and 3G coverage, thanks to their roaming capabilities and contracts with hundreds of telecom companies worldwide. GEGO combines WiFi networks detection with Cell Tower locations, dramatically improving the accuracy of your location reports.
If your LugLoc App is not allowing you to purchase a service plan, it is probable that your unit needs to be updated. Please contact support@lugloc.com informing your current Device Id, and they will offer options to keep using our service.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and we hope we can keep on providing you with peace of mind not only when you travel but also on a day to day basis with our new GEGO.
