Each GEGO unit needs a subscription or service plan to activate the Global 3G coverage to track the things you love anywhere in the world. In other words, your subscription gives you greater accuracy for tracking your items. Without a subscription, GEGO only works with Bluetooth technology, essentially the same functionality as a Tile or Trackr with a limited range of 200 ft or less.
